The truth is Republicans aren't interested in changing the current blood sucking health insurance system. They worship at the holy grail of the free market, and will never step in to stop any big fish from profiting.
But they love to go after small fish that are getting in the way; if you're providing medical marijuana to sick people in California they'll come in. If you're playing computer poker, they'll shut you down. If you're posting documents they don't like on the internet, watch your step. Public healthcare, public transportation, public education, public television, these are all first to go in the Republican budget. The idea that someone would want to provide these services and not take a profit is poison to them. Wherever there's big business in need of some change or to stop some change, Republicans are there. I finally understand why free market economics is called trickle down. The trickle down that's occurring in this scheme is the blood from the lips of the big business vampires.
Is there ever enough for big business republicans? Is there ever a merger too big? Would it be OK for them if corporations owned every storefront, every production line, all the fishing, water, and oil rights? It's ironic that when it comes to personal liability, the R party takes the toughest line. Our country's prisons are overflowing with drug addicts, yet America's big business can do no wrong.
